This year marks Porsche’s 50 year anniversary of its legendary 911. What better time to invest in the most iconic sportscar Porsche has ever produced–the 911 “Super Carrera” SC. This traditional aircooled SC coupe is certainly a minority in a sea of of targa top models available. Finished in stunning metallic Pacific Blue, this SC exudes style and flair. Built in 1981, the body of this car has been galvanised from the factory ensuring longevity if maintained and cared for as this car has been. Its LHD configuration ensures it remains as Porsche engineers intended right out of the Stuttgart factory floor–perfectly balanced. Being a left hooker, this car benefits from a more ergonomic pedal arrangement and seating position making it the perfect track weapon. This is also a desirable non-sunroof car for racing purists. This car has been kept standard apart from its 17” Work Equip 2-piece wheels shod with sticky Bridgestone Potenza RE050 rubber. Behind its deep dished wheels hides drilled brake rotors fitted with competition pads to ensure the car pulls up as needed. The exterior of this 911 has styling cues straight from the mid-seventies with its fibreglass ’74 Carrera RS front bar and rear ducktail spoiler further shedding weight for added performance. The car has also been fitted with a period correct, leather clad “Fittipaldi” Nardi-Personal steering wheel. The piece-de-resistance gracing the interior is a rare 300kph speedometer worth over $1000! The tough 3.0L 6 cylinder boxer pulls hard and hasn’t missed a beat and does not leak oil. The 3.0L engine was always thought to be much revvier and fun to drive than the later model 3.2L Carrera. The steering is unassisted, but light and lively. As with all G-series 911’s, the 915 gearbox is sweet but needs to be babied and cared for but can be very rewarding nonetheless. The heat exchanger exhausts are in great condition and not rusted. Own the pinnacle of eighties German automobile engineering. An appreciating asset!
